Fethiye - Tlos & Xanthos & Letoon

Docking at the Fethiye Port and you will continue to Tlos. The ruins of Tlos, an ancient settlement perched high on the hilltops that include an historical amphitheatre and rock tombs.After a short drive, arrive another ancient city of Xanthos. Xanthos, described by Strabo as Lycia's largest city, takes its name from the river that flows beside it. Xanthos maintained its independence until 545 B.C. Driving along the Xanthos River, you will arrive in Letoon, famous for the sanctuary of Leto and also the last stop of today’s excursion. The site held great significance as a religious center in the Lycian region, yet Letoon could never extend beyond its mainly religious focus to become an actual settlement.
