Bird Watching in Istanbul

Daily Program

Under the leadership of an expert, a dedicated birder and ecologist with previous work for Birdlife International in Ecuador between 2002 and 2005, you will find out about the various species that visit different parts of Istanbul standing on the crossroads of the migratory routes of birds. The shores of the surrounding seas and lagoons in Istanbul as well as its geographical location make Istanbul more advantageous by presenting the ideal conditions for bird watching. Spring and autumn are the most rewarding months in terms of the number of birds and species bird watchers can spot. While bird watchers favor specific areas in certain seasons such as Rumeli Kavagi or Belgrade Forest in spring and Kucuk Camlica or maybe Riva in autumn, rare destinations such as Lake of Buyukcekmece remain as an active source of interest for bird watchers for almost the entire year. Your guide holds the initiative with his knowledge and experience to determine the most suitable destination for the activity a week in advance to ensure the most yield for the guests. Boyla is a member of Community of Bird Watchers in Istanbul and also one of the authors of "The Birds of Turkey”, the only solid piece of study devoted to the birds of the country which we will present to our guests as a souvenir to remember the day by.
